One may either change an employee's status to terminated or delete an employee from Spektrum altogether.

Changing Employee Status to 'Terminated':

  • Navigate to the 'Employee' page from the left navigation menu.
  • Hover over the table row which contains the employee you want to terminate, and click the 'Edit' icon.
  • Scroll to the 'Status' dropdown and set dropdown value to 'Terminated'.
  • Click 'Save'.

If you change the status of an employee from 'Active' to 'Terminated', the following actions will occur:
  • No further punches for this terminated employee will be uploaded into Spektrum.
  • Since the employee is terminated, Spektrum will give you back that one licence spot which you can use to create another employee.

Alternatively, you may Delete an employee:

  • Navigate to the 'Employee' page from the left navigation menu.
  • Hover over the table row which contains the employee you want to delete, and tick the 'Checkbox'.
  • Hover over the  'Three Dots' icon from the top navigation menu and select 'Delete Employee' from the dropdown.

If you delete an employee, the following actions will occur:

  • Spektrum will look up the employee on all the configured Readers and will wipe out the record including biometrics. This means the employee can no longer punch on any device.
  • Spektrum will look up all the punches that were registered on the 'Enrol number' and will replace the employee name with a '<Blank>' . This will preserve the punch records for your convenience whilst being GDPR compliant.
  • The record card in Spektrum will be erased. This means that technically the 'Enrol number'  used can be recycled. Naturally this licence spot is available for another employee.

Another option would be to Revoke Reader Access. This removes a user record completely from all devices, without deleting them from Spektrum.

This is done by selecting the employee and clicking the Revoke Reader Access button.
